S.A.S Nagar : In order to resolve various issues of Industrialists of SAS Nagar district, an open house meeting was held today at DAC Mohali where CEO Invest Punjab, Davinder Pal Singh Kharbanda and Director Industries and Commerce, Puneet Goyal along with DC Aashika Jain lent patient hearing to industrial Associations and assured them of resolving their issues in time bound manner.
CEO Invest Punjab apprised of the industrial associations representing the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohali Industrial Association and Derabassi Industrial Association that a first of its kind ‘Government Industrialist Meet’ would be held at Mohali by the Government of Punjab on the directions of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann.
He said that the Chief Minister has ordered to hold such ‘Sarkaar Sanyatkar Milni’ in Mohali, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar by including the nearby districts in cluster based meetings at these sites. Kharbanda said that the state has already approved New Industrial and Business Development Policy, 2022, aimed at boosting industrial development and creating employment opportunities in the state.
Similarly, the deputy commissioners have been empowered to grant permission for investment upto Rs 25 Crore in the state so that the investor need not to come to Chandigarh for approvals. CEO Invest Punjab while expressing hope of taking up and resolving all the issues of Industrialists related to various departments in the next few days before the meet, said that the Punjab CM has directed the Invest Punjab and Industrial and Commerce Departments to pave the ways by strengthening ongoing ease of doing business initiative of state to generate more employment and revenue.
During the open house deliberations, issues raised by the industrial associations related to the efficient and effective working of Common Effluent Treatment Plant Chanalon, traffic Chaos and bottlenecks on Zirakpur-Derabassi main road, strengthening and renovation of infrastructure of industrial focal points, ration of equivalent car space (ECS), availability of road infrastructure and proper drainage system, ease in norms of approval to building plans, allowing working hostel, hospitality and medical units approvals in industrial area, need of land banks for development of Industrial plots, factory license renewal problems, and issues related to GMADA, Municipal Corporation Mohali, PSPCL, Housing and Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies.
CEO Invest Punjab and Director Industries and Commerce directed the concerned departments’ officials present in the meeting to fix the meetings and visits in the next week to sort out the Problems discussed in the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain assured that the issues related to District level would be resolved on the priority basis as she has already asked the concerned officials to work on resolving the issues and submit report by 31 August.
