S.A.S Nagar : Cabinet Minister Aman Arora would hoist the tricolour to mark 77th Independence Day at Shaheed (Major) Harminder Pal Singh Government College Stadium, Mohali on August 15, 2023, said Deputy Commissioner Aashika jain while reviewing the preparations during full dress rehearsal today, at Mohali.
DC Aashika Jain along with SSP Dr Sandeep Garg also inspected the parade and March Past. Three Police platoons, including one of women police, NCC cadets and school bands of various schools participated in the March Past led by DSP Priya Khera as Parade Commander.
About 700 students from 11 schools presented a grand show with full nationalistic zeal. Students performed during the cultural events with their various songs and other activities based on patriotic themes including the students of National Public School Kurali, Gem Public School, Mohali, Rayan Public School, Government Model Senior Secondary School, 3B1 Mohali, Shiwalik Publ;ic School, Phase 6, Mohali, School for Special Children from 3B1 Mohali, Government Girls Senior Secondary School Kurali and Government College Mohali.
After monitoring the full dress rehearsal, the deputy commissioner chaired a meeting of all the participant schools and various departments engaged in arrangements and issued necessary directions to make the I-Day Celebrations a great success. She said that the preparations for this mega event were going on in full swing and every effort would be made to make sure that auspicious day was celebrated with full patriotic and nationalistic fervor.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that the officers have been assigned duties regarding the event and any sort of callousness in this duty was unwarranted and undesirable.
Officers present in the meeting included SSP Dr Sandeep garg, ADC (G) Viraj Shyamkarn Tidke, ADC (UD) Damanjit Singh Mann, ADC (RD) Geetika Singh, SDM Ravinder Singh, Davy Goyal Assistant Commissioner (UT), SPs Jyoti Yadav and Manpreet Singh, DDPO Amrinder Pal Singh Chauhan, DEO Dr Ginni Duggal.
