Ludhiana : Due to the persistent efforts of District Administration, two more private hospitals have started Covid care centres in their premises from today onwards. These include 25-bedded centre at Verma Super Speciality Hospital near DMCH and 10-bedded centre at Arora Neuro Centre on Mall Road, here.Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Mr Rakesh Kumar Agrawal today visited both the hospitals and thanked the hospital managements for assisting the district administration in this hour of need.It is pertinent to mention that with the efforts of Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Ludhiana has already started 25-bedded “IMA Ludhiana Covid Care Centre” at the Lord Mahavira Homeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Hambran Road, here.Me Varinder Kumar Sharma assured the residents that there is no shortage of beds for Covid treatment in district Ludhiana. He said that people should not panic and check the status of vacant beds through mobile app “HBMS Punjab” or on official web links “https://ludhiana.nic.in/notice/covid-19-bed-status-in-ludhiana-district/” or “www.hbmspunjab.in”. He said that data of all private hospitals providing Covid treatment has been added on the mobile app as well as the web links.He urged managements of other private hospitals to also come forward and set up Covid care centres in their premises so that they can make real service towards the society during today’s testing times.Commissioner of Police Mr Rakesh Kumar Agrawal said that the Covid care centre at the capacity of Verma Super Speciality Hospital can be extended up to 40-bedded in the coming days as per the requirement. He said that this facility has 7 level-2 beds while 18 level-3 beds. He said that he is hopeful that more private hospitals would start Covid treatment in the coming few days.ADC (Development)-cum-Nodal Officer Covid Mr Sandeep Kumar was also present on the occasion.
