Harpal Singh Cheema Launches Verka’s Sugar Free Vanilla Ice Cream

Chandigarh : Keeping in view the demand of the market, Milkfed has been launching new milk products from time to time, which have been getting overwhelming response. Continuing with the same series of actions, Harpal Singh Cheema, Cooperation, Minister, Punjab on May 24 launched three new varieties of Ice Cream under Verka brand namely Sugar Free Vanilla in 80ml Cup, Amour Range Family Pack in Afghan Dry Fruit and American Nuts in 700ml pack.While speaking on the occasion, Harpal Singh Cheema lauded the performance of Milkfed during the financial year 2021-22 and till date & assured the dairy producers and consumers that Milkfed is committed to provide quality extension services to dairy farmers and quality milk and milk producers to consumers.

The Govt. assured full support to Milkfed Punjab in achieving its mission and vision.It was also informed that the customers have been demanding Sugar Free Ice Cream from time to time. With the launch of Verka Sugar Free Ice Cream, the customers shall be able to get the best quality of Sugar Free Ice Cream from the trusted hands of Verka.With the launch of new varieties of ice cream by Verka and with the expansion in the distribution and retail network in the market, the sale of ice cream has increased by 51% in the year 2021-22. During the month of April of financial year 2022-23 the sale of ice cream has increased by 94% as compared to sale in April 2021 and it is anticipated that the sale of ice cream are going to increase more than 100% in May 2022 in consonance to the corresponding period of last year.

Special Chief Secretary (Cooperation) Ravneet Kaur informed that all Verka Dairies of Milkfed shall be modernized further to improve the quality of Milk and Milk Products. It was also assured by her that Govt. will ensure to provide milk producers and consumers with the best services.Registrar, Cooperative Societies Punjab Nilkanth S. Avadh said that Milkfed is committed to launch new value added Milk and Milk Products and Milkfed is taking all initiatives to improve its technical and milk handling capacities.Managing Director Milkfed Kamaldeep Singh Sangha informed that Verka had earlier launched four varieties of Real Fruit ice cream namely Pink Guava, Litchi, Strawberry and Mango, which is made from Real Fruit.

Apart from this, Choco Delight Bar has also been launched. It was also informed that keeping in view the sounding demand from customers, Verka will soon be launching Rabri Kulfi. He also informed that in the recent past, Milkfed has introduced Freezers on Wheel (FOW) in the market so as to make available its ice cream, which has received tremendous response from customers.Sangha further elaborated that Milkfed has been witnessing a sharp increase in the sales of all Verka products and the growth rate of each product has been phenomenal. During the Financial Year 2021-22, Milkfed has recorded an annual increase of 10% in Packaged Milk, 38% in Curd, 24% in Lassi and 30% in Kheer as compared to Financial Year 2020-21. Milkfed also managed to record an increase in sale by 82% in Dairy Whitener, 31% in UHT Milk, 14% in Ghee, 39% in Sweetened Flavored Milk (PIO) and 39% in Lassi (Tetra Pack).
