Four accused held for kidnapping Ludhiana car dealer, demanding Rs 9.5 lakh as ransom

Jalandhar Commissionerate Police hand over accused to Ludhiana City Police

Jalandhar : The city police on Friday nabbed four accused on the charges of kidnapping a car dealer from Ludhiana’s Haibowal locality on Thursday evening, who were demanding a ransom of Rs 9.5 lakh from victim’s family.
The accused have been identified as Manjeet Singh (42) of Kailash Nagar, Chamkaur Singh (29) of Subash Nagar, Bhajan Singh of Bhaura Colony, Ludhiana and Rahul (21) of Madhuban Colony, Jalandhar.

The victim car dealer Kulwinder Singh (30) of Hakikat Nagar, Ludhiana has also been safely rescued by a police party of CIA staff-II, Jalandhar.

Disclosing further details, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskiranjit Singh Teja said that Kulwinder Singh had been kidnapped by the car-borne unidentified persons at gunpoint from his workshop on Thursday evening following which they demanded Rs 9.5 lakh ransom from victim’s wife Amanpreet Kaur.

He said that a case under sections 365, 34 of IPC was registered on the complaint of Amanpreet Kaur at Haibowal Police Station.

He said that Ludhiana police started investigation besides immediately intimated Jalandhar Commissionerate police about movement of accused in the city.

Acting swiftly on the inputs shared by Ludhiana Commissionerate Police, DCP said a team of CIA staff-II was immediately sent to Madhuban Colony where the kidnappers were hiding with the victim.

DCP said that team nabbed four accused involved in this incident and rescued the victim. He said that a police party of Ludhiana Commissionerate police have taken accused and victim to industrial city.
