Ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes reach grass root level : Bharat Bhushan Ashu

Those who neglect the facilities of the needy will not be spared at any cost: Cabinet Minister

Sangrur : All officers ensure that the public welfare schemes being run by the Punjab government for welfare of the people of state reach to the beneficiaries at grass root level so that the needy could avail maximum benefits of public welfare schemes.These views were expressed by Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies and Chairman District Grievance Redressal Committee, Sangrur while presiding over meeting of the District Grievance Redressal Committee at District Administrative Complex. He said that the main purpose of setting up this committee is to solve the problems faced by people by establishing liaison between the government and masses.The Cabinet Minister appealed all the non-government members of the District Grievance Redressal Committee to present the grievances of people in writing to the committee in a timely manner so that appropriate action could be taken to resolve those grievances. He directed all the departmental officers to address the grievances of the people in a timely manner and expressed satisfaction over the performance of the district administration.Mr. Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that the wheat being provided under Atta Dal scheme was being provided to the deserving persons in full transparency through the state’s ration depots.

He said that Officers or employees who neglect needs of the needy will not be spared at any cost. He said that vigilance committees have been constituted from the depot level to district level which would maintain the transparency of the distribution system. The Cabinet Minister said that the Punjab Government is committed to the overall development of the state. He said that the state government has been providing opportunities to the youth to get jobs. He said that in the next two months there would be a large number of recruitments in various departments. In future also the grievance redressal committee would try to meet every month to listen to the grievances of the people so that the grievances of the people could be resolved expeditiously. During the meeting Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ramvir assured the Cabinet Minister Mr. Bharat Ashu that the district administration would address the problems of the people and the development works initiated by the state government in a timely manner. On this occasion Dalbir Singh Goldy MLA Dhuri, Rajinder Singh Raja Birkalan Chairman District Planning Committee Sangrur, Daman Thind Bajwa, Ajaib Singh Rataula, Rahulinder Singh, all senior Congress leaders, Major Singh Sekhon representing Cabinet Minister Vijay Inder Singla, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Rajinder Singh Batra, SDM Sangrur Amarinder Singh Tiwana, Assistant Commissioner (G) Charanjot Singh, SDM Bhawanigarh Pramod Singla, SDM Dirba Simrpreet Kaur, SDM Sunam Jaspreet Singh, SDM Dhuri Ishmat Vijay Singh, SDM Lehra and Moonak Navreet Kaur Sekhon, Civil Surgeon Dr. Parminder Kaur, RTA Karanvir Singh Chhina including Non government members of the Grievance Redressal Committee and representatives of various political parties were also present.
