SAS Nagar : Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar District to mark Independence Day Celebrations at Saheed Major Harminderpal Singh (Shaurya Chakra) Government College, Phase-VI, Mohali, Stadium on August 15, 2023, said deputy commissioner, Aashika Jain, today, while taking first preparatory meeting of the various departments.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the day ever reminds us the unmatched contribution of the freedom fighters to the freedom struggle of the Nation.Presiding over a Preparatory meeting of Independence Day celebrations, today, at the District Administrative Complex, here, she said that district level celebrations would be held at the stadium of Government College, Mohali.
Assigning responsibilities to the district police for the March Past and parking, Rural Development for tableaus, ADC (UD) and SDM Mohali for patriotic cultural bonanza during the event, she said that the full dress rehearsal will be held on August 13, while one prior drill at the stadium will be done on August 12.
She also asked the concerned departments’ officers to clean the ground before the rehearsal and arrange seating, drinking water and the medical team for the students during the rehearsal and for the main function.
The Deputy Commissioner asked that the applications for awarding a Certificate of Appreciation for distinguished services during the event, would be submitted by August 7, 2023 which should include the significant achievements.She further said that the freedom fighters should be invited decently to the function due to their old age and proper seating arrangements to be done for their sitting.
