Amritsar : Amidst the ongoing campaign to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted an Interstate Arms smuggling racket being operated on the directions of an Australia-based Ritik Rally and Jail inmate Kunal Mahajan with the arrest of its seven members, said Commissioner of Police (CP) Amritsar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar here on Friday.
Those arrested have been identified as Jashandeep Singh alias Chillar (19) and Karandeep Singh alias Karanjit alias Dhani (21), both residents of Guru ki Wadali in Amritsar, Sharanjit Singh alias Sunny (24) of village Behla in Tarn Taran, Deepak Kumar alias Deepu (24) of Chohla Sahib in Tarn Taran, Sandeep Singh alias Kaka (26) of Amritsar and Narinder Singh alias Sonu alias Soni (30) of village Hothian in Tarn Taran.
CP Gurpreet Bhullar said that Police have also recovered 11 weapons including 10 .32 bore pistols along with 10 magazines and 15 live cartridges, and one .12 bore DBBL rifle, besides, impounding their Maruti swift car.
He said that acting swiftly on secret information about illegal weapons being smuggled from Madhya Pradesh to supply them to criminal elements in area of Amritsar and Tarn Taran, Police teams from the Amritsar Commissionerate launched a special operation and apprehended seven accused persons from different locations from the district.
During questioning, the arrested accused persons have disclosed that they were smuggling weapons from Madhya Pradesh on the directions of Australia-based Ritik Rally and Jail inmate Kunal Mahajan to further supply them to criminal activities,” he said, while suspecting role of one US-based handler.
In this regard, two cases FIR no. 19 dated 27/1/2024 under sections 25 and 29 of the Arms Act at Police Station Chheharta and FIR no. 7 dated 1/2/2024 under sections 25 (7) and 29 of the Arms Act at Police Station Sultanwind have been registered.

ਸੀਪੀ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਰੈਕੇਟ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਰਿਤਿਕ ਰੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੈਦੀ ਕੁਨਾਲ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ

ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਸੂਬਾ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੇਟ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਸਥਿਤ ਰਿਤਿਕ ਰੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਦੀ ਕੁਨਾਲ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਜੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਦੇ ਰੈਕੇਟ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾਫਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ (ਸੀ.ਪੀ.) ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੇ 7 ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਫੜੇ ਗਏ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਜਸ਼ਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਛਿੱਲਰ (19) ਅਤੇ ਕਰਨਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਕਰਨਜੀਤ ਉਰਫ਼ ਢਾਣੀ (21) ਦੋਵੇਂ ਵਾਸੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੀ ਵਡਾਲੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ, ਸ਼ਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ਼ ਸੰਨੀ (24) ਵਾਸੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਬੀਹਲਾ, ਦੀਪਕ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਉਰਫ਼ ਤਰਨਤਾਰਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਦੀਪੂ (24) ਤਰਨਤਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਚੋਹਲਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਸੰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ ਕਾਕਾ (26) ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਉਰਫ ਸੋਨੂੰ ਉਰਫ ਸੋਨੀ (30) ਤਰਨਤਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਹੋਠੀਆਂ।
ਸੀਪੀ ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਭੁੱਲਰ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ 10, .32 ਬੋਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਸਮੇਤ 10 ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਅਤੇ 15 ਜਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ .12 ਬੋਰ ਦੀ ਡੀਬੀਬੀਐਲ ਰਾਈਫਲ ਸਮੇਤ 11 ਹਥਿਆਰ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਰੂਤੀ ਸਵਿਫਟ ਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਅੰਮਿ੍ਤਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਤਰਨਤਾਰਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਸੂਚਨਾ ‘ਤੇ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੇਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਤ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਬੂ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਫੜੇ ਗਏ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਸਥਿਤ ਰਿਤਿਕ ਰੈਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਲ ਦੇ ਕੈਦੀ ਕੁਨਾਲ ਮਹਾਜਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਮੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।” ਇਕ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਯੂ.ਐਸ ਬੇਸਡ ਹੈਂਡਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਮਾਮਲੇ- ਐਫ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ ਨੰ. 19 ਮਿਤੀ 27/1/2024 ਨੂੰ ਥਾਣਾ ਛੇਹਰਟਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਅਸਲਾ ਐਕਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ 25 ਅਤੇ 29 ਅਧੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਐਫ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ ਨੰ. 7 ਮਿਤੀ 1/2/2024 ਨੂੰ ਥਾਣਾ ਸੁਲਤਾਨਵਿੰਡ ਵਿਖੇ ਅਸਲਾ ਐਕਟ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਵਾਂ 25 (7) ਅਤੇ 29 ਅਧੀਨ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
