AAP government’s foundation laid on lies and false propaganda : MLA Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary

CM Mann should release actual data on the crop loss compensation: MLA Chaudhary

Phillaur : Hitting out at the Aam Aadmi Party government during the by-election campaign, Phillaur MLA Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary said on Sunday that the AAP government was spreading false propaganda about the crop loss compensation given to farmers and wheat procurement.
He stated that the farmers have not received compensation as claimed by the AAP government and accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of spreading propaganda in the name of relief to farmers and laborers. He criticised the government for spending more time and money on propaganda, fake news, and false promises than on actual relief works for farmers and laborers.
Asking CM Mann to release actual data on the crop loss compensation, MLA Chaudhary said the government should tell Punjabis how many farmers have actually received compensation and how much amount has been given to each farmer.
He said the government has not given compensation to the farmers yet, but to further spread propaganda, it has announced compensation for labourers also. He emphasized that the compensation of 1500 rupees announced for Punjab labourers is insufficient and falls short of the actual loss incurred by the labourers.
He demanded that the state government should do more to ensure that workers receive benefits from various Central and state-sponsored schemes.MLA Chaudhary also highlighted the distress faced by farmers and commission agents (arhtiyas) due to poor lifting of the harvest from grain markets.
He urged the government to make arrangements for timely lifting of the procured wheat and said that due to political interference in the allotment of tenders for lifting and transporting wheat to warehouses, the farmers and arhtiyas have faced losses.
Chaudhary assured the public that if elected, Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary would continue to fight for the rights of farmers and laborers in Punjab and work towards their welfare. He said the farmers and labourers are the backbone of the state’s economy, and it is their duty to ensure that they are treated fairly and provided with adequate compensation for their losses.
