Rajpura : To make the ‘COVID Mukt Pind’ campaign launched by the Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, a success,Patiala Division Commissioner Mr. Chander Gaind and MLA Rajpura Hardial Singh Kamboj, today visited two villages Pilkhani and Shamdo and sensitised the Panchayats and villagers of the grim situation of COVID-19 spread and asked them to come forward for sampling and Vaccination to curb the spread of pandemic.Meanwhile, former Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Member of Parliament from Patiala Mrs. Preneet Kaur spoke to the Sarpanchs of these villages through video call and asked them to protect the villages from the infection of CORONAVIRUS. She said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government and the Health Department were making all out arrangements for the care and treatment of the patients suffering from COVID infection including COVID vaccination for all.On this occasion, Mr. Chander Gaind termed the use of masks, hand washing and sanitation as the biggest weapon to win the battle against COVID and asked the Gram Panchayats to don’t believe any kind of rumors about COVID and clear the confusion among the people about COVID vaccination. He said the perpetrators who are spreading the rumours, are the biggest enemies of the humanity.
Mr. Gaind said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh had announced a special grant of Rs. 10 lakh to the Gram Panchayats who would achieve the target of 100 percent immunization under the Rural Mission Fateh and also, each Sarpanch/Gram Panchayat have been given a nod to spend upto Rs 50000 in their villages to protect the villagers from the Scourge of the pandemic. Mr. Hardial Singh Kamboj, MLA of Rajpura said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh priority has been given to health sector and under this AP Jain Civil Hospital, Rajpura has been renovated totally. He said that the oxygen plant at the hospital would be operational soon. Mr. Kamboj further said that the CT scanning machine is also being commissioned in the coming days while digital X-ray and dialysis machines have already been operationalised at AP Jain Government Hospital. Mr. Kamboj said that around 7 vaccination camps are being set up continuously in the Rajpura constituency to prevent COVID spread by strengthening the immunity of the people.Meanwhile, Buta Singh, Sarpanch of Pilkhani village and Varsha Rani, Sarpanch of Shamdo village said that in their villages, the people are being made aware about COVID besides conducting vaccination camps to prevent COVID. Among the prominent persons, Mr. Narinder Shastri, President, Municipal Council, Mr. Amardeep Singh Nagi, Senior Vice President, Mr. Baldev Singh Gadomajra, Chairman, Market Committee, Rajpura, SMO Dr. Kushaldeep Kaur, Tehsildar Ramandeep Kaur, Naib Tehsildar Rajiv Kumar and other dignitaries were also present.
