Says Punjab Govt To Recruit 7055 Doctors & Other Staff In Health Department Shortly: Balbir Singh Sidhu

Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today laid the foundation stone of a 30-bedded Mother Child Hospital at Jagraon. He informed that this hospital would come up within the Civil Hospital, Jagraon complex and would be constructed with a cost of around Rs 8.5 crore. He informed that this hospital would be completed in one year time.While speaking to media persons after laying the foundation stone of this project, Mr Sidhu said that it would be a three storey 30-bedded hospital, which would have facilities of ultrasound, ECG, laboratory, pharmacy, feeding room, new born stabilisation unit (NBSU), recovery room, A-septic operation theatre, pre-natal room, Labour room, septic labour room, paediatric ward with nurse station, private rooms, wards, besides other facilities. He said that this new hospital would be equipped with a lift that would be connected to all three storeys.Mr Sidhu said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed for providing best healthcare facilities to its citizens. He said that soon, more such hospitals as well as trauma centres would be set up in different rural and urban areas of the state.

He also informed that to check the shortage of doctors in the department, the Punjab government would be recruiting a total of 7055 staff in the health and family welfare department. He said that this staff would include 500 medical officers, 500 specialist doctors, paramedical staff, ANMs, multipurpose health workers, nurses, technical staff, besides others.He said that during the COVID 19 pandemic, the health department officials worked 24X7 to ensure the safety of its residents. He said that the department officials remained on the forefront, due to which the number of COVID 19 cases in the state are much less as compared to other states of the country. He said that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab government, the health staff would be making people aware about ways to keep ourselves safe from COVID 19.Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLAs Mrs Sarabjit Kaur Manuke and Mr Harjot Kamal, District Planning Board Chairman Mr Malkit Singh Dakha, PSIDC Chairman Mr Krishan Kumar Bawa, PHSC MD Mr Kumar Rahul, Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, PHSC SDO Mr Gurpinder Singh Sandhu, besides several others.
