Admissions Open At Niift For B.Sc. Fashion Designing, 12th Pass Students Eligible For Entry

Jalandhar : Urging youngsters to explore career opportunities in the fashion industry, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today said that admissions at Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT) Jalandhar for academic session 2022-23 are now open where students having passed class XII can take admission.Divulging the details, the DC said that the Department of Industries and Commerce had established the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology in 1995, comprehending and visualizing the need of trained professionals in the Arena of the Textile and Garment Industry. An MOU was signed with NID, Ahmedabad to make students more competent in the Industry and to offer better facilities; thus a new centre of NIIFT is running at Guru Gobind Singh Avenue, Jalandhar. Mr. Thori said that this Centre has world class Infrastructure comprising the state- of- the- Art facilities, well equipped labs that accomplishes all the requirements of the Industry and strives to impart the knowledge comparable with International standards. He said that the Goal of NIIFT Jalandhar is to give aspirants a holistic understanding of the Fashion Industry, offering job opportunities in various Fashion related fields.

He also mentioned that this Centre is offering B.Sc Fashion Designing, a three years degree program affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar and approved by the University Grants Commission, Government of India and all those candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board/University/ Council or General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the advanced (A) Level or a passing Grade in the Senior Secondary Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of Five subjects or Candidates who have passed 3 or 4 years diploma courses recognized by the AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education are eligible to take admission in this course.After the completion of this degree students can avail various career opportunities such as Fashion Designer, Graphic Designer, Merchandiser in Export/Buying Houses, Visual Merchandiser, Planning and Concept Manager, Garment Production Manager, Garment Production Quality Controller, Fashion Accessory Designer, Fashion Retail Store Manager, Personal Stylist, Teacher and Trainer etc., he added.Pointing out further, GMDIC Deep Singh Gill said that the aspiring candidates can contact at 8146309269 for more information on admissions.
