Chandigarh : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab reacting to the apology speech of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on the sacrilege issue as drama and crocodile tears. AAP said that after 8 years SAD (Badal) president is apologising for their mistakes when actually sacrilege incidents and firing on sikh sangat was not mistakes but crimes.
Addressing a press conference from the party office in Chandigarh on Thursday, AAP Punjab chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that what happened in 2015 was not a mistake but a crime, so there is no chance of any apology as crimes and not forgiven but punished.
AAP leader said that today Sukhbir Badal is saying that the people who used these incidents for their political benefits will be exposed but we all know it was Akali Dal and the Badal family who used sacrilege incidents for their political gains and sided with the accused for a certain vote bank.
Kang said that Akali Dal Badal did not care about the panth and the sikhs. In their government, Sukhbir Badal as Home Minister of Punjab, they opened fire on protesting sikh sangat in Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura and killed two innocent people.
They themselves are accused in this matter so the accused cannot punish the accused. That is not possible. But the people of Punjab punished the Akali Dal and the Badal family and completely rejected them. Today Akali Dal doesn’t have any political ground in Punjab and they are a totally irrelevant party. So suddenly they remember Panth, Guru Sahib, Sikhism and Sangat.
Kang said that now Sukhbir Badal is apologising and saying that they were unable to catch the conspirators but back then he himself did a press conference in Chandigarh after arresting few people and tried to present them as accused in these incidents. Kang said that SAD sided with the conspirators and accused for political benefits, because they have been protecting them not only since 2015 but from 2009 itself.
Kang said that the people of Punjab have completely rejected them, their every argument and appeal is met with rejection, they will not be able to succeed in their new conspiracies. What Sukhbir Badal did at Darbar Sahib was not an apology or regret, it was a political drama.
Kang said that they’ve played with the emotions and sentiments of the people of Punjab and Sikh Sangat in the past and this time too they are trying to do the same.Kang appealed to the Punjabis to not fall for the drama and crocodile tears of Sukhbir Singh Badal. “Don’t trust them (SAD). With the blessings of Guru Sahib Punjab and the Panth will be in Chardi Kala,” said Kang.
