Som Parkash inaugurates four-day Photo Exhibition on AKAM and Flagship Schemes

31 Mobile Towers approved to setup in Kandi area for network coverage in 87 villages

Hoshiarpur : Central government is distributing crores of rupees under various government schemes which are benefitting the needy by alleviating their living standards. Some of them include Ujjawala, MUDRA, Prime Minister Sway Nidhi Yojna for the benefit of street vendors etc.

The Minister said this after inaugurating a four-day photo exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Flagship Schemes of the Central Govt. under Integrated Communication & Outreach Program.
The exhibition was organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India. It will remain open for the general public till March 23, 2023.

Appreciating the endeavour of the CBC for spreading awareness about various schemes through such exhibitions. Sh Som Parkash said that people should come in large number to know which scheme can benefit them and their families. He congratulated Field Publicity Officer, CBC- cum-Nodal Officer of the Exhibition Rajesh Bali for putting up such informative exhibition.

He also paid tributes to the three great martyrs of the Indian Freedom Struggle including Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev by remembering their great sacrifices for the Nation as their martyrdom day is falling on March 23. He was the Chief Guest of the exhibition who reached to inaugurate the exhibition despite heavy rains. whereas, Deputy Commissioner Smt Komal Mittal was the Guest of Honour.

Former Punjab Cabinet Minister Sh Tikshan Sood, SDM, Hoshiarpur Preet Inder Singh Bains and Assistant Commissioner Sh Vyom Bhardwaj were also present on the occasion.Som Parkash said that 31 mobile towers have been approved by the concerned ministry after survey to setup in Hoshiarpur Kandi area. “These will improve the connectivity by providing good network coverage in 87 villages of the area”, said he.

A blood-donor couple from Hoshiarpur Bahadur Singh Sidhu and his wife Jatinder Kaur Sidhu were specially honoured by the CBC through the Hon’ble Minister as Icons of Hoshiarpur who are donating blood for social cause besides doing many other social services. They have together donated 19 litres of blood besides 23 litres and 9 litres individually, respectively.

Winners of Rangoli competition organised by the CDPO office were also awarded. Deputy Commissioner Mittal said that more such awareness exhibitions and campaigns are required to aware the public so that they can avail maximum benefits from the centre and state government schemes.

Field Publicity Officer Rajesh Bali while explaining about the projects to be taken up in the next three days during the exhibition disclosed that a special Cancer Detection Van from Rotary Club, Jalandhar is reaching tomorrow for a day long free Mammography check up amongst women and administering Cervical Cancer Prevention Vaccine to some young girls as decided by the civil hospital and the district administration.

He said on March 23, an Anti Drugs Cycle Rally will be taken out in the morning in coordination with the Hoshiarpur administration, GNA University and Fit Bikers Club, Hoshiarpur to spread the message of stay away from drugs.

A declamation contest amongst students from various educational institutions will also be held at the venue on the topic of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Both these events are dedicated to the Martyrdom Day of the Trio – Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.

Besides, Free general health check up camp running on all four days at the venue, stalls for Aadhar Updation and Linking it with Voter Card, stall for making Unique Disability ID Card has also been setup to help the general public. Stalls to disseminate information on Kisan Credit Card, PM Awas Yojna etc. have also been setup. Others who were present on the occasion include LDM Tarsem Singh, CDPO Manju and Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurdev Singh.
