Governor announces to give Rs. 51 thousand each to the women boxing players of Kinnaur district

Governor Bandaru Dattatraya has announced to give Rs 51,000 each from his voluntary fund to three boxing women players from Kinnaur district, Vinakshi Devi, Sneha and Deepika, who represented India internationally and won medals.Among these Vinakshi Devi, won the Gold Medal in Under-19 Boxing in 2019 and the Bhutan International Event in 2020, under the Khelo India Abhiyan Sneha, won a gold medal in the Under-19 Boxing in 2020 and a silver medal in the Junior World Championship in Spain. Deepika won the gold medal in the World Boxing Youth Championship held in Sweden in 2020. The Governor has provided this amount for their outstanding performance and future preparations. He said that the players are not able to perform in this time of Corona, but they are continuing their practice. These players prepared well for the future and brighten the name of the state and country, so it is important to encourage them.

The Governor was interacting through video conferencing with some prominent individuals, NGOs, social workers, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Kinnaur district today. Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur district Gopal Chand was also present on the occasion.The Governor talked about the state of health and online education, awareness campaign, development works in the district and other problems during the Corona period in Kinnaur.The people who participated in the video conferencing made the governor aware of the problem of expert doctors and phone connectivity in the district. He raised the point of opening a sports centre in Kalpa, widening the connectivity of roads in the border area and building a CA store.
