SVEEP activities intensified at District Kishtwar

DC Dr Devansh Yadav, SSP flag off awareness Rally & SVEEP express from GHSS (Boys)

Kishtwar : A mega Awareness rally under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Campaign, was today organised here at Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School under overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav, who is also District Election Officer Kishtwar to aware people about the ongoing Summary Revision of Electoral Roll-22.

District Election Officer, Dr Devansh Yadav, along with SSP, Shafqat Hussain Batt flagged off the SVEEP Rally here for the GHSS (Boys) in the presence of ADC, Kishori Lal Sharma; Dy SP HQ, Ashish Gupta; Dy SP, DAR, Zia ul Haq; Principal GHSS Boys, Javaid Ahmed Kichloo; DIET Principal, Ashok Sharma, Consultant SVEEP, Riaz Ahmed Butt and ENT Sajjad Ahmed.

Besides, teachers, staff members of Election cell and Hr Sec Schools and DIET, students from GHSS Boys and GHSS Girls Kishtwar participated in the rally.Earlier, the DEO, along with SSP, in presence of other district officers and School staff members flagged off the Vehicle designated as “SVEEP express” from the school campus to intensify the awareness activities under Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll-2022 (SSR-22) in the towns of District Kishtwar.

Earlier, Consultant SVEEP & Senior Lecturer DIET Kishtwar, Riaz Ahmed Butt administered Voters’ pledge to the school students, teachers and the staff members.Around 400 students carrying placards and reciting slogans like “My Vote My Right” “My Vote My Choice” passed through Main Market, Main Bus Stand, Mini Bus Stand, Hidyal Chowk to raise awareness among the masses regarding the SSR-2022.

The rally culminated on the Chowgan Ground where the DEO welcomed the participants for their enthusiastic participation in today’s SVEEP rally.Besides, he also informed that 25th Oct 2022 is the last date for registration under SSR-2022.

“Therefore I urge students to spread awareness among their family and social circles and youth above 18 years to register and link Aadhar to further strengthen democracy on the ground level” he added.He reiterated that the major focus of the campaign is to register the youth who have attained the qualifying age of 18 years on 1st October 2022 as the electors in the Electoral Roll.
