DDC Kathua inaugurates ‘Kissan Pakhwada’ programmes

Kathua:District Development Commissioner Kathua, Om Parkash Bhagat today inaugurated Kisan Pakhwada programmes in different Pancahyats of the district.On the first day of the fortnight long event, the DDC inagurated special camps organised at Palli Morh, Sherpur, Londi, Badala and Jakhbar panchayats organised by Agriculture Department in collobartion with Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Revenue and Banks to cover the farmers under KCC and PM Kissan schemes.The DDC while interacting with farmers said that the aim of Kisan Pakhwada was to facilitate farmers at their door steps so that they can avail benefit of centrally sponsored schemes such as KCC, PM -Kissan and others.He said a calendar of activities has been worked out involving banks, Agriculture and allied departments so that target of 100% KCC saturation can be achieved during Kissan Pakhwada.The teams of revenue department has been directed to remain at all venues to speed up the verification of KCC applications, DDC disclosed.The DDC said besides availing KCC, the Kissan Pakhwada is also a good opportunity for farmers to get technical know-how of latest agricultural techniques, farm implements and equipments which will help them to increase their income.CAO Kathua, Arun Gupta, DAO Sanjeev Rai, CPO besides teams of allied departments and banks were also present.
