Block Diwas held across Bandipora

Bandipora : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad on Wednesday held a public outreach programme at Khenusa village.

The programme was attended by BDC Chairperson, Executive Engineers of PMGSY, R&B, PHE, BDO concerned , Members of Panchayat Raj Institutions and other senior officials and officers.

On the occasion locals thronged the camp site and informed the visiting officers about their grievances, demands and the problems being faced by them in day to day life.The locals raised the issue of regular water supply at Khudmohallah, Zurimanz, Shalpora Zurimanz, Kanibathi, Kehnusa and other adjoining habitations.

They also demanded early restoration of PHE works including laying of 20 Pipes at Paribal and increase in frequency of water tankers till issue is resolved.The locals also demanded establishment of a health centre (Dispensary Paribal), sanction of Turkpora road connecting three villages, release of second instalment of PMAY and SBM, establishment of Bank Branch at Kehnusa, augmentation of Health Lab at Khenusa, availability of ambulance, establishment of Fire Service, Power Supply from Patushai Grid, directions to Patwari to stay for two days at Khenusa, sanction of PMAY cases, establishment of Animal Husbandry centre, early completion of verification Survey by FCS&CA, completion of Zurimanz hospital, construction of link road from New Colony Kanibathi to Upper Areas, construction of Panchayat Ghar at Kehnusa, establishment of smart classes in HS Khenusa, development of playgrounds and flood protection works and face-lifting of the village and Wullar by WUCMA.

Joint Director gave patient hearing to all the demands and assured them that he will convey the demands to concerned departments for early redressal. He also gave on-spot directions for redressal of various grievances especially work under Jal Jeevan Mission to ensure regular supply of water to the residents.

While interacting with the people, Imtitaz Ahmad said Rs 20 crores have been approved for widening of Sopore-Bandipora road. He said he has personally monitored the installation of signages and solar street lights from Watlab top to Kehnusa village being the entry point of District giving a facelift to the area.

He said Zurimamz village has been notified as tourist villages under mission youth and requested the public to get their extra rooms registered as home stay facility to get an extra income for households besides promoting tourism.

He said the forms are available with AD tourism and Tehsildars.Similar public outreach programmes were held across the district in all blocks.
