DDC Rajouri reviews implementation of PM-Kisan scheme; Seed Stock position for Kharif season

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, on Friday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan) Scheme in the district. The meeting also discussed the seed stock position for Kharif Season.
Reviewing the status of the PM Kisan scheme, the Chief Agriculture Officer, Sohan Singh informed that a number of farmers are receiving financial assistance under the scheme in the district.
The scheme aims to provide income support to small and marginal farmers and has been successful in providing much-needed relief to farmers.It was also informed that out of 66830 registered PM-Kisan beneficiaries, the land record of 37252 beneficiaries with ownership rights has been uploaded on the PM-Kisan portal, which is a mandatory requirement to avail the PM-Kisan benefit.
The e-KYC of 1925 beneficiaries and NPCI of 1535 beneficiaries are pending and inheritance of mutation cases of 4448 farmers is pending with Revenue.
Speaking at the meeting, the DDC said that the government is taking proactive steps to support small and marginal farmers and the PM-Kisan scheme is a significant move in this direction.
The PM-Kisan scheme has been widely acknowledged for its role in providing financial assistance to small and marginal farmers.The DDC instructed the Chief Agriculture Officer and Lead District Manager to clear the e-KYC and NPCI pendency before the release of the 14th Installment of PM-Kisan.
He further directed Assistant Commissioner Revenue to clear all the pendency under “Inheritance of Mutations” so that more farmers can be covered under the PM-Kisan scheme.
Later, the DDC also reviewed the status of seed stock position for Kharif Season. The Chief Agriculture Officer informed that about 5400 quintals of Maize Seed, 303 quintals of Paddy seed, 955 quintals of Fodder Seed, 36 quintals of Pulses seed, and 41 quintals of Millets seed have been stocked in the district for Kharif 2023 season.
The seed is being distributed on subsidized rates through 170 seed stores spread across the district. To promote cultivation of Millets in the district, about 1946 demonstrations covering an area of 600 hectares are being laid during the current Kharif season. The seed for these demonstrations are being provided free of cost to the farmers.
The DDC emphasized the importance of timely distribution of seeds to farmers and directed the officials to ensure that all the necessary arrangements are made to provide assistance to farmers in the district.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Imran Rashid Kataria; Chief Agriculture Officer, Sohan Singh; Lead District Manager, Sanjeev Bhasin; DIO, Narinder Kumar and other concerned officers.
