Sheetal Nanda chairs Public Darbar at Samba; Asks officers to ensure prompt redressal of public issued

Samba : Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare, Sheetal Nanda, today presided over a Public Darbar at DC office complex here to comprehensively address the diverse issues and concerns faced by the local populace. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the community, with representatives from various segments of society including DDC and BDC members, PRIs, Beopar Mandal, members of different associations, civil society and other prominent citizens.

The participants raised several grievances and demands concerning their respective areas and sought an early redressal of the same. Chairperson District Development Council (DDC), Keshav Dutt Sharma, Vice Chairperson DDC Balwan Singh and BDC members along with other PRI representatives highlighted several issues including accelerating pace of development under JJM, infrastructural development, focused attention on border area residents affected by cross-border firing, preservation of historical forts, bolstering tourism and other key developmental priorities specific to their constituencies.

Taking swift action, Sheetal Nanda, proactively addressed numerous concerns on the spot and directed the officials to strictly adhere to stipulated norms and timelines for effective follow-up and redressal of public grievances. Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, SSP Benam Tosh, along with district officers were present on the occasion.

Commissioner Secretary, in her address, expressed gratitude to all participants for their active engagement. She emphasized her commitment towards addressing the raised issues in alignment with the existing protocols and regulations. DDC Chairperson lauded the government’s strategic approach of engaging administrative secretaries through the Public Darbar and other senior officers in the ‘Back To Village’ program, demonstrating a proactive stance in understanding and addressing the evolving needs and demands of the citizens. He also applauded the government’s initiatives in empowering PRIs for effective grassroots governance.
