Kishtwar : At a momentous event, the District Administration Kishtwar and Kishtwar Development Authority, organized a felicitation programme at Digital Movie Theatre TRC Kishtwar to honor the members of Sonarpur Arohi Club (West Bengal) for successful summit of Mt. Brammah 1 in Dacchan area of District Kishtwar.
The extraordinary achievement marks the first Indian team to conquer the summit, etching their names in mountaineering history.Mt. Brammah 1, first climbed by British mountaineer Chris Bonnington half a century ago, had not witnessed a successful ascent since 1979-80.
The triumph of the Sonarpur Arohi Club has rekindled the spirit of adventure in the region and has opened new horizons for adventure tourism in Kishtwar.At the felicitation ceremony, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Devansh Yadav felicitated the members of Sonarpur Arohi Club with a trophy and garland of flowers, acknowledging their incredible feat. ACR, Varunjeet Singh Charak, PO ICDS – CEO KDA Dr. Rishi Sharma and SDM Chatroo Shokat Hayat Mattoo were also present.
