DM Shopian pays surprise visit to District Hospital

One Doctor among 14 employees found absent, action initiated

Shopian : To assess the quality health services, and patient care, the District Magistrate (DM) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today paid a surprise visit to the District Hospital Shopian and inspected various sections of the hospital and took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the patients there.During the inspection, one doctor, one latecomer, besides 12 other staff members were found unauthorized absent from their duties at the District Hospital Shopian.Taking serious note of their unauthorized absence, the DM said that stern action shall be initiated against the absentees under rules.Meanwhile, the DM reiterated that such inspections will continue in future also and dereliction of duty including unauthorized absence will not be tolerated at all. Further explanation was also sought from all the absent employees.

The DM visited different sections and wards including emergency, operation theatre, ECG unit, Dental section, X-ray, Gynae, and Post Operation wards. He inquired about the availability of medicines, diagnostic and other facilities available in the hospital.While interacting with the patients, Vaishya inquired about their well being and facilities being provided to them.The DM directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure availability of essential medicines and other diagnostic equipments. He also directed for adhering to the office timing to avoid inconvenience to the patients.Vaishya stressed on the sanitation and single window system facilities for the patients in the hospital. He impressed upon the doctors and paramedic fraternity to be unrelenting in their devotion to public services, so that DH Shopian model is replicated throughout the state.The DM also expressed his desire to make the hospital an institution of eminence.
