DC Baramulla Chairs Meeting; Reviews Implementation of Forest Rights Act, other Tribal Welfare Programmes

Baramulla : Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar today chaired a meeting at dak bunglow to review the implementation of Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Rights) Act, 2006 commonly known as Forest Rights Act.A comprehensive discussion on the required provisions of the act was held during which the concerned authorities briefed the chair about the current progress and position of the related aspects. After taking a thorough review, the DC emphasized dissemination of awareness among the beneficiaries in their vernacular language. He also directed to work in coordination so that centrally sponsored schemes meant for the welfare of tribal communities, are effectively implemented.

The DC said that about 2000 tribal youth shall be imparted with necessary skill development training who shall be subsequently employed in the dairy sector under Mission Youth. Moreover, the DC also took a holistic review of other similar schemes and programmes launched for the overall socio-economic welfare of tribals.Joint Director Planning M. Yousuf Rather,Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohammad Rafiq Lone,SDM Uri, Harvinder Singh,SDM Gulmarg Sameer Jan, District Information Officer Chaudhary Mudasir Hussain Who is also Nodal officer (FRA) , Assistant Commissioner Development Yaar Ali Khan, Chief Education Officer GM Lone, besides various other district and sectoral officers were present in the meeting.
