Block Diwas: Public outreach meetings held across 5 designated locations in Doda

DDC directs departments to attend monthly Block Development Council meetings; ACP asked to share details

Doda : In continuation to the weekly Block Diwas programme, district administration Doda today organised public outreach programmes across all five designated locations to listen to the issues of the people and resolve their grievances at their doorsteps.

The weekly meetings were held at Panchayat Dhrewri, Gandoh; Block Headquarter Sewa Chiralla, Thathri; Panchayat Ghar Kuthyara, Assar; Panchayat Southa, Bhaderwah and Panchayat Udhyanpur of Block Dali Udhyanpur.

Apart from redressing the grievances, the people were also imparted awareness about different individual and community welfare schemes, Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and the Online services launched by UT administration.

District Development Commissioner, Vikas Sharma listened to the public grievances at Panchayat Udhyanpur of Dali Udhyanpur Block.He was accompanied by BDC Chairperson Dali Udhyanpur, Assistant Commissioner Development, AD Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, CAHO, Ex En PWD, Ex En PMGSY, and other district and sectoral officers.

The DDC directed the ACD to redress all the issues raised in the block diwas regarding MGNREGA, PMAY, 14th FC, B2V etc. Responding to the demand for up-gradation and construction of new roads in the area, the DDC assured the people to discuss the same with PMGSY and PWD separately.

Regarding shortage of staff in educational institutes and up-gradation of schools and other similar issues, DDC directed the CEO to rationalize the teaching staff and ensure repair of the toilet block of High School Udhyanpur.

With regard to the demand for release of pending MGNREGA payment, PMAY installments, execution of approved works, the ACD was instructed to go through all the issues and redress the grievances immediately.

The CMO Doda was asked to get in writing the reasons from BMO Ghat for not attending Block Diwas in his jurisdiction.The Tehsildar with additional charge of Tehsil Dali Udhyanpur was directed to attend the office in Dali Udhyanpur Tehsil on every Monday and Thursday.

The Cluster Head JK Bank was asked to immediately take up the opening of the sanctioned Bank branch at Dali Udhyanpur with the higher authorities to benefit the residents of the area.

The DDC appealed to the public to hoist the Tiranga, the symbol of our independence and unity, from 13th of August to 17th of August, as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

He further informed about the online services being provided to people and directed the Tehsildar to hold awareness cum demonstration programmes in all High and Higher Secondary schools of the area.

The PRIs were asked to promote Jan Bhagidari portal wherein people can find out the details of each work executed by the government.Similar meetings were held at all other designated locations where public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands.

They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, meeting the shortage of staff in schools and hospitals, up-gradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.

Meanwhile, as many as 80 grievances/ applications were received at all locations out of which 69 were disposed of on the spot. Besides, 31 Domicile certificates, 07 Category certificates, 04 birth/ death certificates and 36 revenue extracts were issued to the eligible beneficiaries.
