Training will be imparted to update and upgrade doctors, nurses and paramedical staff : Anil Vij

In the coming years, there will be an Integrated Health Laboratory- Health Minister

Chandigarh : Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that due to consistent research in the health sector, new developments keep coming in the said domain which requires training from time to time to update and upgrade the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.

He said that to put this in a system, a training document will be prepared. He said that this training will be mandatory for all the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff working in medical colleges along with the health department personnel.Sh. Vij was presiding over a review meeting of the officials of Health, Medical Education Department here today.

Similarly, he said that it will be mandatory for the employees working in all the government hospitals and health centres of the state like doctors, nurses, sewadars etc. to wear proper uniform so that the patients are aware of the hospital staff. For this, today Sh. Vij has given instructions to the officers that a great design should be prepared for this uniform.

*Robust system will be ready for doctor’s prescription – Vij*

Sh. Vij said that the data of the prescription being given by the government doctors to every patient should be integrated and a system should be prepared in this regard. With this, patient’s data can be maintained and can be easily accessed at one click. This system will also support the hospital to reguarly update their stock.

*In the coming years, there will be an Integrated Health Laboratory- Health Minister*

He also directed the officers of the Health Department to integrate the health laboratory and said that in the coming years, there will be an Integrated Health Laboratory in Haryana. He directed that the latest equipment should be installed in the health laboratories and these laboratories should also be registered with NABH.

Sh. Vij directed the officers present to fill the gap keeping in view the provisions/specifications of NABL and there should be a fixed target for this.

*Comprehensive plan will be prepared for the kitchen and diet of patients in hospitals – Vij*

Sh. Vij said that we have to prepare a comprehensive plan for the kitchen and diet of the patients in the hospitals. For this, dieticians will have to be appointed by all the non-government organizations in the hospitals.

On this, the officers apprised Sh. Vij that three meals are provided to the patients in medical colleges for Rs. 85 and it is approved by the dietician. Sh. Vij said that similarly, diet will be distributed to the patients in the state hospitals as per the dietician’s chart.

*Health Department and Medical Education Department will constitute Engineering Branch – Vij*

In the meeting, on the renovation of old buildings of health centres, Sh. Vij said that 162 health centres will be constructed in the latest technique, for this work will be entrusted to reputed companies so that the allotted work can be completed within the stipulated time period.

Similarly, he directed the officers that the Health Department and Medical Education Department should constitute Engineering Branch for renovation, repair and construction etc. of the buildings of the Health Department.

Apart from this, hospital architects should also be appointed so that according to the requirement of the hospitals, the construction work can be accelerated. He said that we should prepare such buildings which should set examples for other states to follow.

*CT scan machine operated in 17 districts, the rest will be installed soon*

It was informed in the meeting that CT scan machines are operational in 17 districts while this machine will be installed in other remaining districts as well. Similarly, MRI machines are being operated in five districts, on which the minister directed the officers to install MRI machines in other districts at the earliest.

Similarly, ultrasounds are operating in 22 districts and 111 ultrasound machines service will be operated on PPP mode. In the meeting, the Minister directed the concerned officers to prepare a proposal to provide uniform service of ECG at PHC level.

*PSA plants should be fully operational and safe- Vij*

During the meeting, Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that PSA plants in the state of Haryana should be fully operational. For this, he directed the officers to deploy a sufficient number of experienced and trained personnel according to their duty rotation.

Sh. Vij said that these plants should also have the facility of filling cylinders. In the meeting, the Minister was apprised that PSA plants of 14000 liters capacity have been set up in medical colleges.

*All hospitals with above 100 beds should have de-addiction centres – Vij*

During the meeting, Sh. Vij said that psychological counselors should be appointed for the convenience of the depressed patients and for this, the Health Department of Haryana has signed an agreement with PGIMER, Chandigarh, under which the doctors of PGI can provide their services to the patients of Haryana. Sh. Vij directed the officers that all the hospitals with above 100 beds should have de-addiction centres.

*Improved by the decisions of the government*

Sh. Vij said that all the hospitals in Haryana have been directed to get NABH empaneled under which more than 500 hospitals in the state have registered themselves in the NABH list so that these hospitals can provide quality services to the residents of the state.

Similarly, during his tenure an unprecedented decision was taken to procure WHOGMP medicines and today quality medicines are being distributed to the patients in the hospitals of Haryana. Similarly, buying USA FDA certified equipment is providing better facilities in hospitals.

The Health Minister said that dialysis services are being provided in 20 out of 22 districts of the state, this service has started recently in Kurukshetra and about to begin in Charkhi Dadri as well. Regarding dialysis, Sh. Vij directed the officers to strictly monitor the dialysis centres.

With regard to the referral mechanism, Sh. Vij was apprised that now the doctor will have to give reasons for referring the patient, such a provision has been made that means no one will be able to adopt his duty now lazily.

A dedicated doctor should be deputed for PAT-scan machine at Atal Cancer Care Centre, Ambala so that there is coordination between the patients and the doctor. It was informed in the meeting that 696 camps were organized during the Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav in which 18,596 units of blood were collected to save precious lives of the patients.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department, Smt. G. Anupama, Managing Director, NMH, Sh. Prabhjot Singh, Director, Medical Education & Research, Sh. Aditya Dahiya, Director General of Health Services Department, Dr. Sonia Trikha and other officers of Health Department were also present in the meeting.
