State Government ensuring overall development of Tribal areas : Jai Ram Thakur

The State Government has made a provision of Rs 1758 crore under the Tribal Sub Plan for the current financial year to ensure socio-economic upliftment of people of the tribal areas of the State. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the Virtual Rally of Scheduled Tribe Morcha of Organisation district Chamba from Shimla today.Chief Minister said that the State Government has opened Aklavya Adarsh Schools at Pangi, Bharmour and Lahaul to facilitate the students of these tribal areas. He said that the Union Government has provided Rs 32 crore for these schools. He said that the State Government has also launched Tele medicine services in tribal areas of Pangi and Bharmour.Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was ensuring that there was no dearth of funds for ensuring development of tribal areas of the State. He said that the people of tribal areas have made their immense contribution in ensuring that these areas remain free from the Corona virus. He said that Lahaul Spiti district have not even a single case of COVID-19 and other tribal areas have only a few cases. This speaks of the discipline of the people of these who areas were maintaining it during this testing times, he added.Chief Minister said that the second term of the BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi had witnessed several historic decisions such as abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, abolition of Triple talaq and paving way for constriction of Ram temple. He said that the country was today poised to emerge as a world power under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Jai Ram Thakur said that as many as 61 sorties of helicopter were conducted during the last financial year, which has benefitted thousands of people of these areas. He said that since the working season was limited in these areas, the Government was making maximum use of this time period to ensure that the developmental projects were completed within the stipulated time period. MLA Bharmour Jia Lal welcomed the Chief Minister in the virtual rally and thanked him for envisaging keen interest in the development of the tribal areas.President District Chamba Scheduled Tribes Morcha Pawan Kumar also shared his views on the occasion.Deputy Speaker H.P. Vidhan Sabha Hansraj, MLAs Bikram Jaryal and Pawan Nayyar, General Secretary BJP Trilok Kapoor participated in the video conference.Vice Chairman State Civil Supplies Corporation Baldev Tomar and OSD to the Chief Minister Shishu Dharma were also present on the occasion.
