Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar presides over farmer-scientist interaction program and Prakritik Kheti-Kisan Mela at Thunag

Mandi : While presiding over the “Prakritik Kheti-Kisan Mela” and farmer-scientist interaction program organized by Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Forestry and Horticulture, Nauni at Thunag in Mandi district today, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that the experiences of farmers were inspirational and natural farming was getting a boost from their experiences.

He said that today, natural farming and its products were being discussed all over the world. So, there was a need to make natural farming a part of life, he added. He expressed contentment that Himachal has set an example in the country by taking the initiative of natural farming, in which every progressive farmer needs to contribute.

Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Member, Indian Red Cross Management Committee and Chairperson, State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section, said that farmers should take pride in being farmers as they were the Anndata. She appealed to contribute to the natural farming campaign.

Dr. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, Vice Chancellor Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni said that Himachal was leading the country and become first natural farming State in the country and the Seraj Assembly Constituency would be the first assembly constituency of Himachal which was moving forward for completely adopting natural farming.

Dr. P.L. Sharma, Dean, Horticulture and Forestry College, Thunag welcomed the Governor and Senior Scientist Dr. A.K. Joshi proposed a vote of thanks.Rajesh Sharma, Secretary to the Governor was also present on the occasion.
