Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla pays obeisance at Mata Renuka Ji Temple

Shimla : Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla along with the Lady Governor Janaki Shukla reached the famous religious place Shri Renuka Ji in Sirmour district today during his two day visit. He was received by the Deputy Commissioner of Sirmour Sumit Khimta on his arrival at Birla Helipad, Chauri ki Dhar.
This was his first visit to Sirmaur district after becoming the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. The Governor paid obeisance at the famous Mata Renuka Ji Temple and took a circumambulation of Shri Renuka Lake.
He also paid obeisance at Lord Parshuram temple. He said that this place is the center of faith not only for the people of Himachal but also for the entire countrymen. “It also shows our rich culture and high tradition. Deities reside in every village of the State due to which number of festivals are celebrated in Himachal”, said Shukla.
He expressed contentment that the rich culture of the State has been preserved by the people of the State and their faith is attached to it. Later, the Governor also visited Shri Renuka Ji Dam site. He took detailed information about the project from the officials and reviewed its progress.
He directed concerned officers to complete this project within stipulated time so that along with Himachal Pradesh, other states could also get its benefit. MLA of Renuka Ji Vinay Kumar, Director, Shri Renuka Ji Dam Project S.K. Chander, District Forest Officer Wildlife Anita Bhardwaj, D.F.O. Renuka Urvashi Thakur and other senior officers of the district administration were also present on the occasion.
