Rehan police post to be upgraded as police station, Fatehpur to have State-of-Art cow sanctuary, CM announces Rs. 5 crore

Kangra : Despite a debt that touched a figure of 75000 crore on the state during the tenure of previous government, sustained efforts would definitely bring a change to minimize the deficit. The state government is committed for increasing the resources of revenue and significant decisions have already been taken to achieve this goal.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu was addressing a largely attended public meeting at Fatehpur in district Kangra today. Terming the hydroelectric potential in the state as a boon for economic stability, Chief Minister told that the issue has been raised before the Union Government.
He told that Himachal Pradesh has demanded an increase in royalty share upto 30 to 50 percent from hydropower projects which are free from debt.He said that Kangra district would be developed as the tourism capital of the state and Pong dam area has also been included in the plan.Infrastructure development has been accorded top priority. He assured that Pong dam area would become a top attraction for the tourists in the next four years.
Talking about strengthening rural economy through milk production, Chief Minister said that a world class milk plant would come up at Dhagwar in district Kangra by spending Rs. 250 crore. He told that the government has also decided to provide subsidy to the youths for purchasing e-taxis.
Chief Minister also announced the up-gradation of police post Rehan to police station, opening of indoor stadium with a swimming pool at Fatehpur. He also announced rupees five crore for the construction of a state-of-art Cow Sanctuary to be developed in 300 kanal of land in Fatehpur area.
He said that after the November 2023, bus stand construction work would be started at Fatehpur. Chief Minister also announced to open Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School at Fatehpur subject to the availability of the land.
Earlier, on reaching Fatehpur, Chief Minister was given a rousing reception by MLA Fatehpur, Bhawani Singh Pathania, a local congress leader and a massive road show was also taken out to welcome him.The Chief Minister also paid homage to former Minister late Sujan Singh Pathania at his bust in Fatehpur and also paid homage on the statue of Maharana Pratap at Pong dam.
Chief Minister inaugurated 51.85 meter-long double Lane Bridge over Sakri khud on Dadwala- Sakri road constructed at the cost of Rs. 2.98 crore. The bridge will facilitate the people of Rehan, Sakri, Chhatar Khas, Chhatar Jogian, Golwan, Batrahan, Chamoli, Panjror and Bari villages, thereby benefiting the population of about 8500 people of the area.
He also dedicated 2 Functional House Hold Tap Connections (FHTC) schemes to the residents of 26 panchayats under Fatehpur tehsil. Under Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs. 40.35 crore have been spent on completion of these schemes. A total number of 290 habitations with a population of over 61 thousand have been covered under the schemes.
While welcoming the Chief Minister, MLA Fatehpur Bhawani Singh Pathania expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister for visiting his assembly despite inclement weather. He said that Congress party always prioritized the overall development of Fatehpur.
He said vision of the Chief Minister would take the state on the path of prosperity and within next ten years, Himachal Pradesh would be the prosperous state of the country. He also demanded a survey for the development of an industrial area in Fatehpur area and setting up of a milk chilling plant keeping in view the ample milk production in the area.
Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar, CPS Ashish Butail and Kishori Lal MLAs Malender Rajan, Kewal Singh Pathania, Neeraj Nayyar, Chairman Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Chairman HP State Industrial Development Corporation Vishal Chambial former MLA Ajay Mahajan were also present on the occasion among others.
