Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh presides over 19th meeting of Standing Committee of Northern Zonal Council

Shimla : Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh presided over the 19th meeting of Standing Committee of Northern Zonal Council organised by Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India at Shimla, today. During the meeting, discussion on issues pertaining to speedy investigation of cases of sexual offence against women and children, coverage of villages by bank branches and postal banking facilities were held. Effective implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer for Social Sector schemes, abandoning of cattles on trans-state border, Chandigarh-Baddi rail line and issues related to handing over of railway land of Jagatpura-Shivdaspura, railway land at near Durgapura railway station, railway land near Gandhinagar railway station and railway land near Bais Godam railway station were also discussed in the meeting.

The Committee also discussed issues of introduction of central database of violators under Motor Vehicle Act and execution of new inter-state routes. Secretary GAD Devesh Kumar proposed vote of thanks.Secretary Inter-State Council Anuradha Prasad, ACS Revenue and Disaster Management Haryana P.K. Das, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Union Territory to Chandigarh Dharam Pal, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Union Territory to Laddakh Umang Narula, ACS Government to NCT Delhi Praveen Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Water resources Government of Punjab Sarvjit Singh, Principal Secretary Government of J&K Manoj Kumar Dewedi, Secretary Government of Rajasthan Naveen Jain and other administrative Secretaries and heads of departments were also present in the meeting.
