BJP would achieve new heights and further expand its base under the Presidentship of Suresh Kashyap : Jai Ram Thakur

Shimla : The Bharatiya Janta Party would achieve new heights in the State and further expand its base under the Presidentship of Suresh Kashyap and the Party would strive hard to win the 2022 State Assembly elections thereby once again form Government in the State. This was stated by the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while addressing the function held at Peterhoff here today on the occasion of assuming the charge of new State BJP President by Member of Parliament Suresh Kashyap. Chief Minister said that BJP has emerged as the biggest political party of the world and it was a real honour for the people of the State, that a leader from Scheduled Caste Community was today heading the BJP in the State. He said that Suresh Kashyap was an educated, simple and honest leader who was committed towards development of the State and also strengthening the party. He said that Suresh Kashyap broke the Congress citadel in Pachhad in 2012. He said that prior to this, the Congress had continuously won this seat for seven times. He said that not only this, the BJP candidate Suresh Kashyap won the Shimla parliamentary seat by a record margin of about 3.77 lakh votes.Jai Ram Thakur said that during this Covid-19 pandemic, the effective use of information technology has helped us to interact with each other and credit of this also goes to the Digital India vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the State Government not only held regular meetings through video conferencing with the district officers of the State to effectively tackle the Covid-19 crisis, but also held virtual meetings and interactions with the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes launched by the State Government.Chief Minister said that it seems that the leader of opposition was making baseless and uncalled for allegations against the State Government. He advised him to just have a glimpse of the situation in his neighbourhood in Punjab, which is ruled by the Congress party. He said that situation in Punjab, Rajasthan and Maharashtra was alarming and all these states were ruled by Congress Party Governments. He said that the leader of opposition must better advise the Chief Ministers of these States to effectively tackle Covid-19 pandemic in their states instead of making baseless allegations against the State Government.

Jai Ram Thakur said that despite of this crisis, the State Government was ensuring that the pace of development does not suffer.  He said that the unspent money with various Departments would be utilised for various developmental works. He said that although the cases have increased in the State, but still the situation was under Control. He said that with collective efforts we would surely come victorious from this situation.Earlier, the Chief Minister also visited State BJP Office along with the newly appointed State BJP President, where the President assumed office.Newly appointed President of State BJP Suresh Kashyap, in his first presidential address, thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda for reposing their faith in him. He assured the central leadership and people of the State that he would leave no stone unturned to strengthen the party from the grassroots level. He said that this appointment was not only an honour for him, but was a moment of pride for the whole Scheduled Caste Community as well as for the ex servicemen of the State.Suresh Kashyap said that his appointment has once again proved that BJP was actually a party with a difference as all this was possible only in the BJP. He said that he was honoured with this appointment and would work with missionary zeal to come upto the expectations of the central leadership and people of the State. He also thanked all his predecessors for strengthening the party in the State and urged them to motivate and guide him to perform this duty more effectively. President State BJP said that the Party would work with greater coordination with the State Government to ensure that BJP again comes to power in 2022. Former State BJP President and MLA from Nahan Assembly Segment Dr. Rajiv Bindal said that it was indeed an honour for the people of Sirmour area in particular to have State BJP President from Sirmour district. He expressed hope that the Party would expand its base in the State under the able leadership of Suresh Kashyap. He said that power for party functionaries was the mere mode of serving the people of the State and country.General Secretary State BJP and Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Trilok Jamwal presented vote of thanks.Former Chief Ministers Shanta Kumar and Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur, MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, Mandal Presidents of seventy four BJP Mandals of the State also joined the event through video conferencing. Organisation Secretary Pawan Rana, MLA and General Secretary State BJP Rakesh Jamwal, Former MP Kripal Parmar, Former State BJP President Satpal Satti, BJP Mahila Morcha President Rashmi Dhar Sood, Former Minister and Vice Chairman HIMUDA Praveen Sharma, MLA Kamlesh Kumari, General Secretary Child Welfare Council Payal Vaidya, Former Mayor Shimla Municipal Corporation Kusum Sedrate were present on the occasion among others.
