Rashami Desai is all set to win hearts in the upcoming movie ‘Jahangir National University’ (JNU). She’s playing a very pivotal role in the project and the movie is set to bring out the best out of her as an artiste. Rashami Desai plays a character that’s based on the life of writer and professor Nivedita Menon of JNU.
Nivedita is known for her staunch opposition to nuclear power and not just that, in the past, she’s been criticised many times for allegedly making anti-national statements. While one section believes that she’s made many anti-national statements, another section believes she has been vilified wrongly by the media and police.
Given the dynamics of such a character, one can only imagine how wonderfully Rashami must have played the role with multiple layers attached to it. The character is completely different from what we have seen Rashami play in the past and hence, we truly can’t wait for her to slay on-screen.
Fans have already liked a glimpse of her performance in the promo and now, people can’t wait for the film to release on-screen. Regarding the movie, Rashami Desai says and we quote,”First of all, a huge thanks to all my fans and supporters for waiting so patiently to see me on-screen.
It was a conscious decision to take a bit of a break in order to do the kind of things I wanted to do on-screen. I have truly put my blood, sweat and all my efforts to get into the skin of my character and do complete justice to it. A lot of people’s faith and belief is associated with me and the project and it’s my moral responsibility to take care of all of it.
As an actor, right from the research and preparation stage to doing everything that’s needed to get deep into the character, I have done everything. Now, it’s time for the audience to see and decide how they feel about the movie and my performance.
