“Sunny Skies and Soaring Kites: RBU’s Joyful Basant Panchami Celebration”

Mohali : It was a day of fun and frolic for the students of Rayat Bahra University and Rayat Bahra Dental College and Hospital and as a colourful function was organized in celebration of Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja. The function was organized in collaboration with USTAHM and Dr Devinder Pal Singh Seghal, Assistant Director (Retd) of Punjab State Forensic Science Laboratory and Limca Book Record Holder in Tiny Kites Making, was the Guest of Honour.
The festival activities were organized at Defence Officers’ Preparatory Academy grounds. Students enthusiastically participated in kite flying, kite making, cutting and highest-flying activities. Other cultural events included folk dance, music activities, DJ, and fun games.
Themes for kite flying/kite making and slogan writing included Protection of Environment, Women Empowerment, Say No to Drugs and Say No to Child Labour. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions, lauded the initiative of the RBU and RBDCH authorities in celebrating Basant Panchami in a novel way.
Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, appreciated the themes for the slogan writing competition. Dr Dinesh Sharma Registrar along with Dr S K Bansal , Dr Akshey Sharma Principal Rayat Bahra Dental college and hospital. Pankaj Kaul principal school allied sciences, Dr Madhumita Mukherjee Principal (USTAHM), Dr Neena Mehta Dean Academic and other senior faculty members were also present. Prizes were distributed among the students who displayed outstanding performance.
