Gain Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology organized Annual Sports Meet

Vansh from BCA first year & Sahil Anand from BBA first year selected as best Athlete

Mohali : Gain Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology, Phase 2 organized Annual Sports meet at its campus. Gain Jyoti group chairman J S Bedi inaugurated this mega event. Students from all the departments took oath to participate in Sports Meet with the true spirit of Sportsmanship.
The students showcased their multi-faceted talents. The sports extravaganza witnessed a participation of more than 220 students in various exciting sports activities like Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton and KHO- KHO. Total number of participating teams in each event were- Volleyball (8 teams), Basketball (10Teams), Badminton (20 participants) and Kho-Kho (6 Teams).
The students battled it out on ground to clinch various titles. The event witnessed immense participation of enthusiastic students who put in their best efforts and displayed immense team spirit and integrity. In athletics Best athletes of event was Vansh from BCA first year & Sahil Anand from BBA first year. Aruvansh from BBA-I and Ananya from BCA-III won the Gold Medals in Badminton.
The team led by Vansh won the Gold Medal in Volleyball and the team led by Ashutosh won the Silver Medal. The Team under leadership of Rahul and Lalita won the gold and silver medal respectively in Kho Kho game. The Basketball game was won by Sahil Anand and the team led by Aditya was the runner’s up.
Gain Jyoti Chairman J S Bedi & GJIMT Director Aneet Bedi distributed medals, certificates, and trophies among winners of the games and inspired the participating players with the speech.Highlighting the importance of sports Director Aneet Bedi said that the lessons of life are learnt in the playground, sports instill discipline, perseverance, team work, sense of justice and co-operation which go a long way in one’s life.
The event successfully ended with the National Anthem sung by the entire audience.Speaking on the occasion Chairman Bedi said that sports are necessary for overall development of the personality of a person as sportsman spirit teaches discipline, team work and determination to win. He further added that sports help in improving both physical and mental strength and the body remains fit and healthy.
